WHEN SEWED BELTS ARE ADVISED AND WHEN SEGMENTED BELTS IS IT JUST A QUESTION OF AESTHETICS?
Segmented bands have a double advantage over sewn ones: one of them is greater comfort, since the space between the band segments allows air and perspiration to pass through and also gives the garment a bit of elasticity; and the second is that by not presenting any relief it prevents the drops of molten metals from being slowed down and slipping over them.
On sewn tapes, molten metals could get stuck on the edge of the tape and cause holes in the fabric with risks to the safety of the user.
